Vivien Yang

Painting to me is about revelation and communication. Through my paintings of reflections of buildings old and new, I open up to people a way of seeing, revealing the world around them in a way they may have never seen before. Buildings are landmarks by which a place is recognized. They also mark developments and changes in society. Through my works, the viewers are made to look again at their physical surroundings to see the state they are in today as a result of progress and developments in society.

Vivien Yang was once a Mathematics teacher with the Ministry of Education, Singapore. She is now a practicing artist who does oil paintings of architectural buildings.
