Exhibiting Artists: Randy "Andoi" Solon

Bless the Beasts and the Children acts as a cautionary tale for its audience. Conditioned by Mother Goose and the Brothers Grimm, we tend to believe only in happily ever afters. As curious youth, the beauty that we see, we want to own and take pleasure in. But as we thread our way through the hidden traps and impending dangers of life, we discover that there is a price to pay for what we took for free. The menagerie assembled in Filipino artist Randy Solon’s 6th solo show range from cute and cuddly to wild and feral. He reminds us that in life, the law of the jungle is in operation, and it will take its toll once youth and joy have passed.
Randy 'Andoi' Solon holds two degrees in the visual arts: a Bachelor of Fine Arts, major in Painting, at the University of the Philippines, and a Certificate in Advertising from the Philippines Women's University. Solon is the recipient of numerous awards from national art competitions. His works have featured in major SE Asian auctions.
