Dates: 16 Jun 2005 - 26 Jun 2005

Enter the shadowy subterranean world of Filipino artist Andres Barrioquinto. His palette is somber, his characters remote, his scenarios dire and macabre. Yet his tortured depictions merely reflect the dysfunctional universe he inhabits, for he draws on his acute observations of society and its environs. The fractured, pseudo-Cubistic viewpoints engender multi-faceted landscapes, some morphing into near-abstractions, and we are given a privileged glimpse into an evolving, altered state of Barrioquinto’s chameleon realities.
