What moves me to paint is the pure joy of painting itself, as well as seeking distinctive means to interprete what I observe and feel. “Mix-Up” aims to address the gaps in avant-garde events that take place ahead of their time, which cause much confusion and bewilderment to the past and my generation, who are now past the prime of their lives.

Ladies in cosplay, a black cat and nostalgic local landscapes are the central themes in these paintings. The alluring and gorgeous womanly figures are a metaphor for our ultramodern age group. The nostalgic landscape represents history and reminiscences about the past. Although I paint in oil, I have simulated a water-colour style here to convey a sense of bemusement and peculiarity.
